This month Mother Goose Time is taking us Down on the Farm!
We’re looking forward to learning about farm animals, being in the barn, trying some farming, and eating farm food.
The kids and I are really looking forward to all the monthly themes for 2016-2017!
Daily Child Projects
“Down on the Farm” is jam packed with wonderful projects including several invitations to create and make and play activities.
We’ll be creating with feathers, hay, and mud. We’ll be playing with sheep and eggs. We also get to grow a bean and visit a farmer’s market.
Calendar and Daily Activities
Making wheat bread, playing “Knock, Knock Cow,” and measuring a beanstalk are just a few of the fun activities we are looking forward to this month.
The included story of the month is “There’s a Cow in My House,” by Brian Steckler and illustrated by Chris Lensch.
We also have a whole new list of suggested books and outdoor and STEAM inspired play ideas.
Each month comes with thematic manipulatives. This month, cow counters and stick links are included.
These manipulatives are used in several of the Mother Goose Time activities and we are most looking forward to using them for sorting activities and playing games that develop our phonics with regards to the letters, “c” and “h.”
We will also be focusing on the following concepts:
- Color – brown
- Shape – triangle
- Friendship Trait – thankful
- Pattern – AABB
- Letters – B, C, & H
- Sight Words – go, to, we
- Numbers – 2 and 12
The month’s musical selections are country inspired.
We’ll be listening and dancing to “Wheels on the Tractor” and “Hayride Harvest.”
***The music CD is included with the monthly curriculum purchase. Dance n’Beats is an optional dance and fitness program.
This month also includes a celebration kit focusing the Pumpkin Patch.
We’ll be playing “Beware of the Bat” and “Pin the Patch on the Scarecrow.”
We will also be learning about “The Lost Sheep” with “God Is The Good Shepherd,” from Experience God (Christian curriculum add-on) and dancing to the music from our “Dancing On the Farm” program from Dance ‘n Beats (dance and fitness program).
The toddler is always included thanks to the Little Goose Program (toddler supplement).
New, this year we will also be adding “More Reading and Writing“and “More Math,” as part of Mother Goose Time’s prek and kindergarten enrichment program.
We hope you’ll join us on our adventures as we head “Down on the Farm!”
